An Evening to Remember

Last week’s AGM and Gala was truly a night to remember an evening marked by connection, celebration, and a shared sense of purpose. The room was alive with the energy of members and partners gathering together, enjoying meaningful discussions, delicious food, and uplifting entertainment.

The evening began with a warm time of fellowship, as guests connected over coffee and desserts. During the Annual General Meeting, CFFO reflected on the past year through its annual report and welcomed a new member to the Executive Board, Gord Vellenga. We also took time to recognize the dedicated service of Sandy Kursis, whose leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact. While she will be deeply missed, we are grateful for all she has contributed.

A particularly meaningful moment of the evening was the opportunity to honour Simon DeBoer. His years of faithful service, tireless dedication, and passion for CFFO have helped preserve its rich traditions while strengthening its vision for the future. His contributions have left an enduring legacy within our organization and the farming community we serve.

Following the business portion of the evening, guests enjoyed time connecting with partners over appetizers, with the room filled with laughter, thoughtful discussions, and a shared commitment to advancing agriculture together.

Dinner was a highlight in itself, offering an exceptional culinary experience that delighted guests from start to finish right through to a beautifully prepared dessert selection that was impossible to resist.

To close the evening, we were privileged to welcome the Chapelaires, whose music brought a sense of peace and inspiration to all in attendance. Their harmonies filled the room with beauty and grace, creating a truly memorable and meaningful conclusion to the night.

Overall, the AGM and Gala was a celebration of community, marked by heartfelt conversations, renewed connections, and a collective vision for the future. We are sincerely grateful to all who attended and for the continued support of our incredible members and partners. Together, we are building something truly special.
