We need to encourage the leaders of our country to serve the needs of our citizens. They need to work to unite us, not cause division or contradiction among the people.”

Canada Proud

Happy Birthday Canada, a great nation to live, work, invest and explore in.

Happy Birthday to our Southern neighbours, USA as well.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for his inheritance” Ps 33:12

As we celebrate our nations birthday on July 1st, it is helpful to empty our minds of all the negatives and focus on the positives. It seems so natural for us humans to focus much more on the negatives rather than the positives. This is not to dismiss the struggles that some are facing, even on this holiday celebrating the independence of our country. This is not to disregard the challenges we need to face and rectify, such as high living costs, challenges with housing, trade issues. Today, incidentally, the negotiations on the CUSMA trade deal begin, this is important particularly for the agri-food industry,

“The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario supports a renewed and stable CUSMA agreement that preserves open and predictable trade between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Ontario farm families depend on reliable access to North American markets, and a strong CUSMA framework helps provide the certainty needed for farmers to invest, grow, and contribute to a resilient food system.”   — Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CFFO)

We need to encourage the leaders of our country to serve the needs of our citizens. They need to work to unite us, not cause division or contradiction among the people.

On this day:

Let us celebrate the freedom we have in our country. Canada is known for many nationalities coming together here to live, a place where there is no hostility between others. Our history reflects that; here is a place of opportunity.

Let us celebrate the natural resources we are blessed with.

o   Fresh water – so valuable,

o   Precious Metals and Minerals – support our economy and our health

o   Energy – this drives so much of our economy and is a product that we can export for economic gain.

o   Forests – great economic gain, a home for so much nature

o   Recreational opportunities – our vast open areas are great for families and individuals to explore and relax in.

Let us celebrate the businesses that provide employment, products and services that we use each day.

Let us celebrate the abundance of food available for us to enjoy. As an organization involved in the agri-food industry, it is of particular importance that we realize how blessed we are and how we need to appreciate the hard work of all those involved. Farmers who produce our food and then all those who help bring it to our picnic tables.

Let us celebrate our health system, our education system, the opportunity to retire and enjoy our senior years comfortably.

Let us celebrate with a commitment to Love our neighbours as ourselves.

May Canada continue to prosper, and the people of the land be content.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6
