Chatham-Kent-Essex Policy Tour
February 22 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This year, we’re asking CFFO members to weigh in on OMAFRA’s Best Management Practices (BMP) series.
- Which OMAFRA BMP documents do you consult and use?
- Do you run into any conflicts when you try to follow recommended practices for two or more BMPs? Tillage versus cover cropping? No till versus incorporating nutrients?
- Do you agree that OMAFRA’s BMP series helps farmers in “harmonizing productivity, business objectives and the environment and create long-term plans and sharpen day-to-day decision-making”?
Let’s talk about what is “Best” for YOUR farm.
See OMAFRA’s BMP Series.

The 2019 Policy Tour is the first stage of a multi-year project toward building an automated, user-friendly decision support tool that will help farmers find the right combination of BMPs to suit the needs of their individual field conditions and overall stewardship goals.
This project is funded in part through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (the Partnership), a federal-provincial-territorial initiative. The Agricultural Adaptation Council assists in the delivery of the Partnership in Ontario.
